  • On the morning of May 30, in Hanoi, the Hanoi Union of Science and Technology Associations in collaboration with the Capital Women's Intellectuals Association held a seminar on "Green agriculture, orientation for Hanoi's agriculture and the responsibility of intellectuals". Capital".

Dr. Nguyen Van Liem spoke at the conference.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Vice President of Hanoi Union of Science and Technology Associations Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thanh stated that the trend of developing green and environmentally friendly agriculture is chosen by many countries around the world. In the country, together with the Agriculture sector, Hanoi is promoting restructuring of agriculture in each specific field, towards the development of green, smart and sustainable agriculture.

At the workshop, the delegates shared their views on a number of issues:  The current situation and policies of green and sustainable agricultural development; high-tech solutions to cope with climate change...

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Van Trinh, Director of the Institute of Agricultural Environment (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), in order for Hanoi's agriculture to develop green, it is necessary to focus on solutions in cultivation and animal husbandry, such as: : Use slow-dissolving nitrogenous fertilizers, smart fertilizers; do not burn agricultural by-products; reuse crop by-products; using renewable energy  (electricity from biogas, solar cells, drying by biomass); digital conversion; improve ruminant rations; reduce industrial feed and increase organic feed; do not use stimulants, lean substances...

To implement the above solutions, Hanoi needs to identify trees and plants with high emission reduction potential (large quantity, high emission coefficient such as rice and cows); building adaptive zones (environmental conditions, soil…) to apply green solutions; building green, low-emission agricultural projects associated with granting carbon credits brings dual benefits to producers and creates a domestic carbon credit exchange market...

Dr. Nguyen Van Liem, Center for Climate Change, Institute of Natural Resources, Environment and Community Development said: Currently, the construction and establishment of a carbon market is an urgent requirement to reduce greenhouse gases and contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. respond to climate change and achieve the goals of sustainable development. However, at present, developing this market faces many challenges, requiring a lot of investment in technology, human resources and finance. By 2028, Vietnam will operate a carbon credit exchange. The market for carbon credits will be the necessary boost to promote environmental protection and ensure the rapid and sustainable development of the green economy...
